Global Scholar Grant - We would like to thank the Rotary clubs of Hillsborough, Fanwood-Scotch Plains, Watchung-Warren, Dunellen-Green Brook, and Branchburg for partnering in first Rotary Global Scholar Grant. Indu Shahi received $34,000 to complete his Master's degree in Health Management at the Brandeis University.
Kutumba Band from Nepal perfomed at the Readington Middle School. Students were very inspired by this event and during their Make a Difference day celebration students raised more than $2600 dollars for the Nepal Orphan project to help 50 students to go to school.
FONNJ's commitment to Education:
100% percent of the membership dues will be dedicated and channeled to Scholarship programs in Nepal. Currently, the scholarship fund of close to US $ 2500.00 a year is provided to various schools in Nepal. The criteria for the scholarship require that the recipients maintain 75% passing grade in their studies. These selected students are currently enrolled at various Schools in Nepal. With the help from friends and well wishers, FONNJ has made an effort to make access to education easier for a certain number of Nepali children.
